DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, June 1\, 2024 marks CityScape’s 27th annual Streetscape Planting Day. Interested volunteers should sign up online to help beautify the greater downtown area and help us plant new green space. CityScape encourages neighborhood groups to use this opportunity to start making plans for citywide beautification efforts! Streetscape Day projects will include trimming\, planting flowers and shrubs\, removing debris\, and mulching planted areas. Lunch will be catered by downtown and area restaurants under the big tent. Focus areas include Central Square\, West and East Federal Streets\, John Young Memorials\, South Avenue Bridge Police Memorial\, Mahoning Commons\, B&O Station\, Choffin Hillside\, City Hall\, Williamson Staircase\, Wick Park\, Harrison Common\, Smoky Hollow\, and more. Anyone interested in volunteering for planting day on June 1st can do so by signing up through the button above. DESCRIPTION:Pete’s Pride will participate in the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley’s monthly Satur-Day of Caring on Saturday\, May 18.  Volunteers unload\, pack\, and deliver food to more than 400 seniors\, shut-ins\, and families in need.You can help unload and pack food from 8-10am\, deliver food from 9:30am-12pm\, or do it all – unload\, pack and deliver the food from 8am-12pm.Like our participation in Streetscape\, Satur-Day of Caring is a great event for families. People of all ages attend. There is some physical work required\, and standing. Children are welcome\, accompanied by an adult.

If signing up for multiple\, please note the locations and times of the different ceremonies. Volunteers should wear all black\, and will be given special Pete’s Pride T-shirts to be worn on the day as well as a red stole. Walking and standing are required for these roles.

DESCRIPTION:Join the YSU Columbus Alumni Chapter for National Volunteer Week on Saturday\, April 27th from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM! This year\, the chapter will again volunteer with the Mid Ohio Food Collective at their on-site pantry\, 4041 Gantz Rd \, Grove City\, OH 43123. \n\n\n\nThe on-site pantry at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective is looking for dedicated volunteers to help serve customers through the various stations inside the market. Some volunteers will be preparing food and carts while others help with registration and loading. 16 years of age and older are welcome. Ages 11-15 must be accompanied by an adult. Please maintain a 1:1 adult to child ratio and keep child with adult at all times. \n\n\n\nConnect with fellow Penguins as we give back to the community! DESCRIPTION:With the help of June Deley\, we have planned our next gathering.  It will beat the Claim Jumper (601 N Green Valley Parkway\, Henderson\, NV 89074) onThursday\, April 25\, 2024\, at 6:00 p.m.  We chose it because we had anice dinner there last year\, and it is right off the 215 on Green ValleyParkway and easy to find.  Cyndy will need your RSVP by April 18\, 2024\, togive the count to the restaurant. DESCRIPTION:Pete’s Pride volunteers are needed to assist with directing guests to reserved seating prior to the Thomas Colloquium Lecture Ben Sherwood on Monday\, March 11\, The Centofanti Symposium featuring Thomas Gabor & Fred Guttenberg on Wednesday\, March 20\, and the Skeggs Lecture featuring Cris Carter on Wednesday\, April 17. All the lectures will be held at Stambaugh Auditorium.Volunteers will arrive at 5:30 p.m. for instruction. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The lecture begins at 7:00 p.m.\, at which time volunteers are free to watch the presentation. Standing and a professional demeanor is required. Volunteers are encouraged to wear business professional dress in red or black colors if possible

DESCRIPTION:Bring the whole family to an engaging lecture that will help you prepare for the upcoming total solar eclipse happening on April 8th! Learn about the science behind the eclipse\, the significance of this once-in-a-lifetime event\, the best places to see it\, and how to view the event safely.The talk will be given by Dr. Patrick Durrell\, Distinguished Professor of Astronomy at YSU. Dr. Durrell was recently named the first Warren M.
