DESCRIPTION:Pete’s Pride will participate in the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley’s monthly Satur-Day of Caring on Saturday\, May 18.  Volunteers unload\, pack\, and deliver food to more than 400 seniors\, shut-ins\, and families in need.You can help unload and pack food from 8-10am\, deliver food from 9:30am-12pm\, or do it all – unload\, pack and deliver the food from 8am-12pm.Like our participation in Streetscape\, Satur-Day of Caring is a great event for families. People of all ages attend. There is some physical work required\, and standing. Children are welcome\, accompanied by an adult.

DESCRIPTION:Join the YSU Columbus Alumni Chapter for National Volunteer Week on Saturday\, April 27th from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM! This year\, the chapter will again volunteer with the Mid Ohio Food Collective at their on-site pantry\, 4041 Gantz Rd \, Grove City\, OH 43123. \n\n\n\nThe on-site pantry at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective is looking for dedicated volunteers to help serve customers through the various stations inside the market. Some volunteers will be preparing food and carts while others help with registration and loading. 16 years of age and older are welcome. Ages 11-15 must be accompanied by an adult. Please maintain a 1:1 adult to child ratio and keep child with adult at all times. \n\n\n\nConnect with fellow Penguins as we give back to the community! DESCRIPTION:With the help of June Deley\, we have planned our next gathering.  It will beat the Claim Jumper (601 N Green Valley Parkway\, Henderson\, NV 89074) onThursday\, April 25\, 2024\, at 6:00 p.m.  We chose it because we had anice dinner there last year\, and it is right off the 215 on Green ValleyParkway and easy to find.  Cyndy will need your RSVP by April 18\, 2024\, togive the count to the restaurant. DESCRIPTION:Bring the whole family to an engaging lecture that will help you prepare for the upcoming total solar eclipse happening on April 8th! Learn about the science behind the eclipse\, the significance of this once-in-a-lifetime event\, the best places to see it\, and how to view the event safely.The talk will be given by Dr. Patrick Durrell\, Distinguished Professor of Astronomy at YSU. Dr. Durrell was recently named the first Warren M. Charleston Blvd.\, Las Vegas\, NV 89117) on Thursday\, February 1\, 2024\, at 6:00 p.m for our Las Vegas YSU Alumni Chapter Dinner. Alumni\, Penguin friends\, and fans are invited! \n\n\n\nNow\, here’s the catch. The manager told me that the computer system wentdown when they tried to ring up separate checks for the banquet menu soTHERE WILL BE ONE BILL FOR THE MEALS. EACH PERSON WILL NEED TO BRING $35 IN CASH FOR THEIR MEAL. The $35 includes tax and gratuity on the meal.I will be responsible for paying the meal bill. We can order alcohol and pay for those drinks separately since the drinks are on the menu. It made sense to the manager so I guess it makes sense to me. \n\n\n\nHere is the menu from which you will choose that evening: \n\n\n\n\nChicken Parmesan– sautéed chicken coated with Mama Mandola’s bread crumbs topped with Pomodoro sauce\, romano\, and mozzarella cheese.\n\n\n\nChicken Marsala–wood-grilled chicken topped with mushrooms and our Lombardo Marsala wine sauce.\n\n\n\nPenne Carrabba–penne pasta tossed in Alfredo sauce with wood-grilledchicken\, sautéed mushrooms\, and peas.\n\n\n\nGrilled Salmon–wood-grilled salmon topped with lemon-butter sauce\, tomato\,and basil.\n\n\n\nPork Chop Marsala–wood-grilled\, bone-in pork chop topped with mushrooms and Lombardo wine sauce.\n\n\n\n\nEach meal comes with a choice of Caesar salad or Italian salad\, or soup\,fresh bread with herbs and olive oil\, an alcohol-free beverage\, and minicannoli. The main meal also comes with choice of sides (vegetables\, pasta\, or mashed potatoes). \n\n\n\nI need to give them a count on January 25\, 2024\, so please RSVP to me by emailing your name\, YSU graduation year\, and how many you are bringing and their names before Janurary 25\, 2024.
