Ableton Live Certified Trainers bring inclusive music-making workshop to YSU Dana School of Music
Ableton Live Certified Trainer and artist Feral Kitty will lead a groundbreaking workshop and performance that challenges the myth of “talent” and opens the door to music-making for everyone.
The event, titled “Everyone Can Make Music,” will take place 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the McDonough Museum of Art, presented by the Youngstown State University Dana School of Music.
This interactive session combines keynote storytelling, live electronic performance and practical demonstrations within Ableton Live — the world-renowned software that has revolutionized the creation, teaching and performance of music.
Feral Kitty will be joined by other Ableton Certified Trainers: Will Kuhn, president of TI:ME and James Patrick, founder of Slam Academy. The clinic will offer attendees a unique opportunity to learn from multiple experts in one setting.
“The traditional ways we’ve taught music have left too many people behind,” Kitty said. “But with tools like Live and with teaching methods that prioritize creativity and access, anyone can discover their musical voice.”
The workshop is designed for producers, educators, students and the general public. No prior music experience is required — only curiosity and a willingness to play.
Registration is available online.
