No matter where you live there is a good chance that you will run into alumni of Youngstown State University. Our alumni chapters are represented across 14 states.
The Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University will host its annual WCBA Open House 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, welcoming prospective students and their families to explore academic programs and experience life as a WCBA student.
The open house is designed for students interested in pursuing a business degree in accounting, business administration, business analytics and economics, finance, human resource management, supply chain management, management or marketing, as well as related minors and certificate programs.
Guests will have the opportunity to connect with WCBA faculty, staff and current students while learning about internships, student organizations, global learning opportunities and academic support services.
A Youngstown State University student has been selected to participate in the 2026 Scholars in Aging program, a competitive statewide initiative led by the Ohio Department of Aging in partnership with the Ohio Association of Gerontology Education. Frederick Veauthier, a doctoral student in health sciences at Youngstown State University, was named one of 10 students from colleges and universities across Ohio selected for the 2026 cohort. The Scholars in Aging program brings together students from diverse academic backgrounds to explore aging-related policy, research and practice. “We are delighted to welcome another group of passionate Ohio students to the 2026 Scholars in Aging program,” Ohio Department of Aging Director Ursel J. McElroy said in a statewide announcement. “This new cohort shares a commitment to shaping a future where we empower Ohioans to live longer, healthier lives with dignity and autonomy.”
Business students in the Williamson College of Business Administration will gain hands-on career experience and build meaningful professional connections at the Professional Development Summit 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, Jan. 23, in the auditorium of Williamson Hall.
The high-impact event features five career-focused sessions led by 25 to 30 employers, alumni and faculty members. Sessions will address topics such as internships, leadership development, professional portfolios and employer expectations. Students will also have the opportunity to connect with industry professionals during a networking luncheon, gaining real-world insight to help jump-start their careers. Registration is available through Handshake.
