No matter where you live there is a good chance that you will run into alumni of Youngstown State University. Our alumni chapters are represented across 14 states.
Aidan Smith, a business administration student in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025–26 Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Roll Scholarship.
The competitive scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership and commitment to the values of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for business students at AACSB-accredited institutions.
Smith maintains a 4.0 GPA and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a minor in finance and a leadership certificate. He serves as president of YSU’s Beta Gamma Sigma chapter, where he has played an active role in student engagement and recruitment, helping introduce underclassmen to the academic and professional opportunities available through the organization
The Judith Rae Solomon Gallery in Bliss Hall at Youngstown State University announces “Wrinkles in the Smile of Divinity,” a solo exhibition by artist Davon Brantley. The exhibition will be on view Monday, Feb. 2, through Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
Influenced by Dante’s Divine Comedy, Brantley presents a trilogy of works that navigate the profound territories of Hell, Purgatory and Divinity as metaphors for the artist’s personal journey.
Through Rorschach-silhouetted substrates, non-conventional portraiture and dynamic blooming colors, the exhibition examines how toxic generational ideas about love and domesticity shape our lives, how we navigate the nonlinear beauty and dread of grief and how we reconcile traditional values with the contemporary realities of connection and family.
When Youngstown State University junior Ely Vuksanovich presented her work at a national steel industry conference in December 2025, she was not only representing her student organization, but years of hands-on learning and leadership at YSU.
Vuksanovich, a mechanical engineering technology major who began her studies at YSU in 2022, recently represented the chapter at the Steel Founders’ Society of America Technical and Operator’s Conference in December 2025. There, she delivered a presentation on the chapter’s winning entry from April 2025’s Cast in Steel competition, speaking to an audience of approximately 120 industry professionals.
