YSU business students support regional government contracting activities
Twelve Williamson College of Business Administration students have been selected to participate in the third year of the Ohio Procurement Internship Program at Youngstown State University.

Students selected for this competitive program completed specialized coursework in government contracting this spring semester and have been matched with an Ohio company for a full-time, paid summer internship. Internship projects include procurement compliance, market research, market expansion and government sales strategy plans. The Ohio Procurement Internship Program, created by the APEX Accelerator and the Ohio Department of Development, provides a unique opportunity for businesses interested in expanding their government contracting activities to leverage the skills and knowledge of specially trained college students.
This year’s participants:
Aidan Gray, from Pittsburgh, is a senior studying Supply Chain Management and pursuing Analytics and Supply Chain Certifications. He currently works part time for Fastenal as a supply chain fulfillment specialist out of the Warren branch. He is also enrolled in the Army ROTC program and plans to continue his logistics career in the Army upon graduation as a commissioned second lieutenant. Gray will be pursuing an internship with the Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU.
Cecil Fidram IV, a junior Business Administration major and Marketing minor, holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is passionate about process improvement and operational efficiency. Fidram was matched with Raider Technologies LLC.
Edward McGlone, a junior from Canfield, is majoring in Marketing with a minor in Professional Selling. He has completed an internship with The Cafaro Company in their Corporate Marketing Department. After graduation, he plans to explore his career options in procurement, marketing and athletics. McGlone was matched with SunWize Power & Battery LLC.
Fatima Mohamed, originally from Canonsburg, Pa., is a senior majoring in International Business with a certificate in ERP systems. Mohamed graduated this spring, and plans to begin her career in logistics while studying for the LSAT. She hopes to work in international business and trade law. Mohamed will be pursuing opportunities in her career path.
Jenae Brown, a senior majoring in International Business and Philosophy with a minor in Psychology of Mental Health, is a Youngstown native and graduate of Youngstown Rayen Early College. After graduation, she intends to pursue a law degree at the University of Akron School of Law to become a contracts lawyer. Brown was matched with Roemer Industries.
Jolena Windsor, a junior majoring in Business Administration, will expand her expertise through a government contracting and procurement internship in summer 2025. Windsor was matched with Hunt Valve Company Inc.
Kanya Bonner, a junior from Akron, is majoring in Accounting and is expected to graduate in spring 2026. He plans to pursue a career in procurement or further his studies to become an actuary. Bonner was matched with The Orsus Group.
Krish Patel, a Finance major with a minor in Computer Science, expects to graduate in December 2026. He is the co-founder and finance team lead of Life Forward Foundation, a mental health-focused nonprofit. After graduation, he plans to pursue the CFA certification and launch his own business. Patel was matched with LRT Associates LLC.
Logan Burggraf is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration. He credits the Ohio Procurement Internship Program for refining his skillset to pursue career opportunities. Burggraf will be pursuing opportunities in his career path.
Quentin Pew, a junior with accredited certifications in Business Analytics and Enterprise Resource Planning, currently works as a Realtor with Howard Hanna, representing both residential and commercial clients. He plans to pass the Certified Valuation Analyst exam and deepen his understanding of procurement. Pew was matched with D’Angelo Technologies.
Stephen Zaucha is majoring in Electrical Engineering Technology with a minor in Business. He has served 22 years of active duty in the U.S. Army in various positions. He hopes to build a career in electrical engineering, focusing on both design and maintenance. Zaucha was matched with Tri County Tower LLC.
Yolimar Gonzalez Melendez, a junior double majoring in Social Work and Business Administration with a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, currently works as a counselor intern at the Glenbeigh Outpatient Center of Niles. She plans to pursue a law degree with a focus on policy. Gonzalez Melendez was matched with Haltec Corporation.
Instructors for the course are Joseph Scott, statewide director of the Ohio APEX Accelerator; Scot Loveland, director of the Ohio APEX Accelerator at YSU; and Dillan Pickel, procurement specialist for the Ohio APEX Accelerator at YSU.
