YSU Jazz Combos Feature Jazz Classics and the American Songbook
YSU’s Jazz Studies Area will present Jazz Combos led by Kent Engelhardt and Glenn Schaft in the Ford Theater in Bliss Hall on the YSU campus beginning at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20.
Engelhardt’s quintet will perform “Chitlins Con Carne” by Kenny Burrell, “Idle Moments” by Duke Pearson, and “Song For My Father” by Horace Silver. Schaft’s quartet will feature “Bye-Ya” by Thelonious Monk, “Dear Prudence” by Lennon & McCartney as arranged by YSU Graduate Assistant Eduardo Arce-Monge, “Recordame” by Joe Henderson, “Wichita Lineman” by Jimmy Webb and “The Breakthrough” by Hank Mobley.
The concert is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 cash fee.
