YSU students inducted into the Clarence P. Gould Honor Society

On April 30, a new cohort of student honorees was inducted into the Clarence P. Gould Honor Society, which recognizes distinguished student work in the liberal arts and sciences. The induction ceremony was held at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The Clarence P. Gould Honor Society bears the name of the late Dr. Clarence P. Gould, professor and chairman of the Department of History from 1938 to 1958. The Gould Society is YSU’s counterpart to Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious liberal arts honor society.
In its 67th year since being chartered in 1958, the Gould Society inducts students from the liberal arts and sciences who fall into the top 1% of juniors and top 5% of seniors. Gould Society inductees demonstrate serious pursuit of a broad, well-rounded education that incorporates interdisciplinarity, cultural awareness and preparedness for a wide range of professions.
