Youngstown State University Dana School of Music professor collaborates with alumnus on new composition
Francois P. Fowler, professor at Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music, has premiered a new composition in collaboration with alumnus Christopher Mrofchak.
The piece, titled Four Letters to Wormwood ‘After C.S. Lewis’, showcases the creative partnership between current faculty and a distinguished graduate of the program.
The composition draws inspiration from Lewis’s theological and literary works. It is performed by the Fowler/Mrofchak Guitar Duo, a collaborative ensemble featuring both composers.
Mrofchak graduated from YSU’s Dana School of Music in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music in Performance. His continued collaboration with the school demonstrates the lasting connections fostered within the Dana School community and the ongoing professional relationships between faculty and alumni.
Four Letters to Wormwood ‘After C.S. Lewis’ represents the innovative compositional work emerging from YSU’s Dana School of Music, highlighting both the creative output of current faculty and the successful careers of program graduates.
